In the past, the Charlevoix region was mainly frequented by skiers eager for adrenaline and in search of sublime natural sliding conditions; steep undergrowth worthy of the playgrounds of Western Canada. The Massif Ski Resort has been for many years one of the main tourist attractions in the region.
Times have changed a lot. The Charlevoix region has evolved well and so have its commercial activities. We are far from the days of peace, when the small plot of Charlevoix land was frequented only by raging skiers and their wooden skis!
Tourism companies have started to establish their business activities there. Small restaurants, inns, B&Bs and lodges are now numerous in the area.
The tourist traffic is in strong growth and with the eminent arrival of Club Med on the slopes of the Massif, it is obvious that a media boom is coming very soon. Many companies whose fields of activity are adventure and the outdoors have decided to participate in the economic development of the region, since they saw a strong potential for tourism development.
